Hermes II 3.5.10b3 is the first release of the Hermes II BBS to incorporate the new, Python-based Hermes API Runtime. Externals built using this new API are easier to developer, will run on other platforms, and are relatively future-proof when compared to the old, Pascal-based external API.
Hermes Python Runtime
Hermes now supports Python-based externals built using the new
External Development
System. A brand new version of Leech,
Leech 2000
is included with Hermes II 3.5.10b3.
Hermes II 3.5.10b1 picks up where 3.5.9 left off by adding TCP/IP download support to the X-, Y-, and Z-Modem protocols.
TCP/IP downloads
Hermes II now supports downloads over TCP/IP connections. All
three (X-, Y-, and Z-Modem) of the transfer of the protocols are
supported. You must have a telnet client that allows file
transfers in order to use this feature. The Hermes II Terminal
Java Applet does not currently support file transfers.
